Congratulations EDI Class of 2013!
EDI’s 2013 program year came to a close in November with graduation celebrations in Greater Portland & Puget Sound.
On November 7th at the Embassy Suites-Portland Downtown, 19 participants graduated from EDI’s Leadership Discovery Program for Asian professionals. EDI alum and program chair, Ronson Ramos (Class of 2011), was MC for the event of 80 attendees. Program chairs, Dennis Mai & Diana Hoang presented the graduating class. Mari Watanabe (Class of 2000) was keynote speaker and Bonneville Power Administration was the recipient of the Ted Yamamura Leadership Exellence Award.
On November 14th at the Hilton Bellevue, 59 participants graduated from EDI’s Leadership Discovery Programs for Asian & Hispanic professionals and Leadership Navigation. EDI alums and program chairs, Roy Slack (Class of 2010) & Carmelita Kimball (Class of 2008) served as MC’s for this 20th anniversary celebration. To honor EDI’s 20 years in the Puget Sound there were special awards and recognitions throughout the evening. There were over 40 EDI alumni in attendance representing all the class years (1994-2012) except for 1 class! Alums wore special ribbons and the photos of their respective class years were displayed. Victor Mizumori (Class of 1995) was keynote speaker. A special tribute was done for our late co-founder & visionary, Ted Yamamura. We were very honored to have Ted’s family in attendance.
The Ted Yamamura Leadership Excellence Award was given to companies/individuals that have been committed and dedicated to EDI over 20 years. Awardees were The Boeing Company, State Farm, KeyBank and EDI co-founder, Vanna Novak.
